Old Turn Junction is the entrance to the Birmingham and Fazely canal running north to meet the Coventry Canal at Fazeley which is a small town just south of Tamworh and in the district od Lichfield.
It is the duct for many boaters travelling from the north to moor in the highlighs of Brindleyplace.
So, Cambrian Wharf and it’s canal feeders are well used for mooring traveling boats as well as permanently moored boats.
The Flapper pub, (5th photo in Galler below), a long established live venue, was closed in early 2020 as the owners of the site wanted to build flats there in spite of successful protests by locals to the Planning Office which turned down two applications for its relacement. At the thend of 202o it was still closed.
Cambrian Wharf is still a popular area for locals to enjoy the canal relaxation experience.
